Chonteau McElvin, Medicine Woman, is founder and creator of the Sacred Healers Program, a training program for Urban Shamans and Soul Care University, a mystery school for the healing arts. Chonteau has been learning and practicing Folk Herbalism for well over 20 years. She was guided by her paternal grandmother, father and many mentors along the way. Chonteau’s passion is preparing Urban Shamans for a new vibration of healing with starts with self healing on all levels. She acts as a navigator of the soul, guiding her apprentices through their deep inner work, thus supporting their birth as a medicine healer. Her journey with the sacred plants follows a wise woman path, focusing on relationship building, nutritive weeds and illnesses providing opportunities for self discovery. Her green allies journey has also brought her to use the sacred plants in rituals, energy healing and other root work to support harmonious living. In essence, Chonteau is a “conjure woman ” root worker or green witch and she is here to live her best life.
Chonteau supports Healers, Herbalist and other Wellness Professionals open to their sacred gifts by providing a safe place for them to do their soul work. Chonteau is a Social Worker of 23 years, spending most of her career counseling adolescent girls and women. She is a graduate of The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, trained in over 100 dietary theories, and a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She completed a 2-year Herbal course with Susun Weed and an 8 week course at The Florida School of Holistic Living.

The Art of Herbal Bathing
In this workshop you will learn the ancient art of herbal bathing for mind body and spirit. We will explore several types of herbal baths from spiritual healing to physical healing and detoxification. Using plants and flowers in our bath water is an ancient practice and crosses many cultures and countries. This age old healing method is all but forgotten in this modern day and this workshop seeks to reactivate a this tradition.
Beyond Herbs, Exploring Four Healing Salves
In this workshop we will focus on the socio-emotional connection to dis-ease and dis harmony by exploring how the wise woman way is applied to healing. We will also look at how the absence of ancestral healing leads to fragmentation in our healing process. We will also discuss the healing salves of nature, song, dance and storytelling and how of these are an integral part of our healing journey.
