More info about the 2015 Parking Pass
Many of you have asked … Why are you charging for a parking pass this year?
In 2014, much to the disappointment of many eager herbal enthusiasts, we closed our registration for the conference weeks prior to the event, due to a limited amount of parking space at our host site, Camp Winona. In order to responsibly grow our event for future years at the same location, we must regulate and have a true picture of how many cars will be arriving on site. Our current venue has space to accommodate more people in terms of camping, lodging, and classroom space, but its main limitation is parking spaces.
In the interest of addressing our parking limitations, and to allow more Florida herbalists to gather with us in community in a way that honors the space of our venue, we have elected to incentivize carpooling, by issuing a modest fee for a parking pass for the 2015 event. This pass is per car, not per person – meaning whether one passenger, or five, you pay one ten dollar fee per vehicle. This also allows us as organizers to know precisely how many cars will be on site, and, at what point we must close our registration for the year.
To further show the community our good intentions behind this change for the 2015 event, we will be donating 100% of parking pass fees to United Plant Savers to support their work and mission.
For those who do not yet know herbal friends in your local community, we have created a Rideshare page to connect with fellow attendees and arrange carpools from your area, to be able to share the ten dollar fee. Visit this link to post available seats in your vehicle, or to find open seats with another driver.
It may be helpful to note that we have not raised our ticket price for the event in recent years. In comparison, several regional and national herbal conferences have raised their rates by an average of ten to thirty dollars each year. We are committed to keeping this event accessible to as many eager herbalists as possible, and we thank you for your support!
