Camping and Lodging

Retreats by the Lake in Lake Wales, Florida, is an idyllic setting for our herbal gathering, featuring a large lake and surrounded by forest. The camp offers shaded camping areas with scenic lake views. Conference registration includes primitive camping on-site.

Primitive Camping: Campers will appreciate the lush shade of the live oaks and the lakeside views of our camping areas. Camping spots are first come first serve. A common bathhouse and shower facility with men’s and women’s sides are located adjacent to the campground, and is shared between campers.

Separate Parking: Campers are required to park their vehicles in our designated parking area. The parking lot is a very short distance from the shaded campsites. You may consider a small wagon a helpful aid.

Indoor Lodging: Cabins at Retreats by the Lake offer a comfortable place for you to call home for the weekend. Cabins range between 10 and 14 bunk beds with bare mattresses and shared bathhouses. Weekend price for a single twin bunk in a shared cabin is $60. Participants who register for lodging as an individual will be placed in men’s and women’s cabins, respectively. Bedding is not provided. Please bring a sleeping bag (or bedding) and towels. You may also wish to bring items to decorate your bunk, ear plugs for sleeping, tapestries for creating privacy in your bunk, and similar items to make your feel at home. Each cabin is fully conditioned with AC, heater, and insulated windows for your comfort.

=========

Remember- as we enjoy the beauty of the forest, so too do we share it with our animal brothers and sisters. Insects are not uncommon, and food that is not properly stored in sealed, secure containers is a temptation for other critters. Follow good camping practices.

We thank you for cooperating and keeping Retreats by the Lake beautiful.
