Thank you for your interest and desire to join this wonderful dream of cultivating a bioregional herbal gathering for Florida. Our volunteers make this event happen, and receive benefits including building deeper friendships, contributing the development of our regional herbalist community, and enjoying the conference without paying registration fees.
Work Exchange positions include weekend registration, which includes camping, in exchange for 20 hours of work during the event plus one hour of pre-conference promotional support. We schedule positions so that those who take part in pre- and post-conference shifts can attend 2/3 of the weekend classes, and those who cannot take part in shifts outside of the Friday-Sunday conference schedule can attend 1/2 of the weekend classes. Most positions are able to attend well beyond the minimum, and we take your specific workshop requests into consideration when creating the schedule. All positions begin on Thursday at 5 pm with our Work Exchange Orientation – if you cannot arrive on site in time for this orientation, you will not be able to serve on our team. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Work Exchange participants must submit a deposit of $100 upon acceptance to the program which will be given back at the end of the event if the entire exchange is completed. Refunds will not be reimbursed if orientation and position schedule are not fulfilled. Meal plans and cabin lodging are the responsibility of the participant.
We have a limited number of positions, and they fill quickly each year with a waiting list. Applications are accepted until October 15th 2018, and acceptance of positions will be announced October 20th.
