We are delighted to share this invitation to submit an application to be a Guest Teacher at the ninth annual Florida Herbal Conference, being held February 28-March 1 2020, at the beautiful Camp La Llanada in Lake Wales, FL.
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve our herbal community through this conference, by helping us connect, network, and deepen our relationships with each other and our land of flowers over a beautiful late winter weekend, empowering the Florida herbal community to deepen its roots and widen its branches. Once again, we are hosting the conference at the beloved Camp La Llanada, and we are looking forward to setting roots at such a welcoming and accommodating home. We hope the hovering branches of the live oak trees and the breezes off the lake will bring a sense of peaceful retreat to our conference.
We sincerely hope you can join us for our ninth year and co-create the memories and traditions that will grow the future of our Florida herbal community and invite you to participate as a Guest Teacher of the event.
We encourage you to submit workshop topics from your personal experience that inspire you. Please indicate in your proposal the level of experience students should expect from your class so they can choose among offerings. We encourage all submissions to be earth-centered and bioregional. An emphasis on local flora sets our conference apart, and we encourage you to integrate Florida plants into your classes as much as possible. In addition to these suggestions, we request teachers review our Conference Agreements, and to contact us to learn more about these guidelines.
Due to limited indoor space dark enough to show slides, we ask you to give your workshop without digital presentations when possible, as long as it will not compromise the quality of your class. If a slide show and/or power point projector is an important part of your presentation, we may request for you to provide your own equipment when possible to facilitate scheduling. Please indicate all details below pertaining to needed equipment in your class, so that the technical portion of your presentation goes as smoothly as possible.
This year we welcome back our Youth Program! Kids of ages 3-7, 8-12, and teens 13-17, will be joining us for an educational and fun program alongside adults. We are seeking teacher submissions for Youth Program workshops, and encourage you to submit your ideas for Kid’s classes alongside adult classes if you are interested in helping to inspire this group of young people.
If you’re unable to attend this year, it helpful to let us know so that we know you received the information and can open space for another teacher ~ we will miss you dearly, and we thank you in advance for letting us know.
If you will be able to join us, please be sure to let us know by October 31st for priority workshop placement. We’ll send a quick reply confirmation to let you know that we received your application. In the meantime, if you have any questions or need further information, please contact us by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
