The Herbal Detective: Getting to the Root of the Problem
Working with clients can often be challenging. Most people that come to see herbalists have unresolved and complex issues which have often gone undiagnosed or dismissed. This class will focus on techniques that herbalists can use to help fill in the pieces of these complex puzzles and organize the information in a way that helps us get to and address the root cause of the problem. In this class you will be presented with actual cases and see how to use these techniques and apply them to real world situations.
The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Mediatrix Naturae)
The notion that the body has an innate intelligence or vital force that will restore internal derangements and allow the body to heal on its own accord has been an underlying principle of medicine throughout the centuries. This class will focus on the concept of Vitalism and the various principles of health which may interfere with the vital force and hinder the natural healing process. We will also look at the role of the herbalist as it relates to the practice of Vitalism.
