Mz. imani is committed to an inclusive sense of earth based spiritual practice that encourages all people to return to their heARTs wisdom, and to explore the ceremonial roles of the drum, music, dance and art. She inspires us to actively engage with the spiritual energies of the universe, through community music, collaborative art, collective prayer and the co-creation of positive myths. She is a collaborator and works with people of all walks of life to activate a Living Prophecy of renewal, respect and harmony, and takes care of a Sound Chamber in Swannanoa, NC.
Mz. imani is a people’s artist, who consciously blurs the line between performance, art and ceremony. She calls our attention through the power of the drum, our collective imag-i-nation and the dance of the sacred elements. She invites and inspires the songs of our heARTs to come forward, while circumambulating the sacred fire. Here we open to contemplation and celebration of that which matters to us. That which may help the heART of Humanity to Heal.
Mz. imani is leading a variety of rhythm activities and ceremony at the 2018 Florida Herbal Conference, including Saturday night’s Fire Circle, and the following class:
SoulFire Circles: Tools of Transformation Through Art in Action
When the subtleties of sacred space, music, gratitude, silence and movement are acknowledged together, we find ways to circumambulate a Sacred Fire, that has the potential to help the entire WErld.
SoulFire is a place of alchemy, a fire circle that holds a container to weave together the dance and the music, with our gratitude for life and our love of the eARTh. From the ferocity of the djembe, to the subtlety of the Handpan, SFC makes room for the didjeridoo, chanting, singing and spoken word pieces.
If you want to dive into to support the basic principles of what is happening on the energetic and practical levels of Saturday Nights Fire Circle please join Mz. imani for music making, conversation, and exploration.
Mz. imani has been participating and instigating Sacred Fire Circles since 1987. This class will explore the basic principles of how to work with music, dance, group energy and spirit to welcome the frequencies of harmony, peace, intention and change. Please bring a chant, your drum, your dancing feet and your ideas of collaboration.
